My daughter met her dad for the first time in 2013

Well I haven't posted for years and really just remembered with the help of a friend that I have a blog. So much has opened over the past years, especially the year of 2013. First and foremost, I want to write about my oldest daughter. In September 2013, her biological father contacted me about seeing her. Without getting into the story, we found out she was his in July 2006 and he opted not to see her. Then out of the blue he texts about getting to know her.  It was a long 3 hour conversation about why he does want to see her and why he hasn't seen her over the years. I was very clear that if he came into her life, he could not leave it. I couldn't have my daughter go thru that kinda pain again. He promised me he was there to stay. After discussing with my husband, I told my daughter about her biological dad. She was elated!!! I knew she would be because she has been wanting to meet him for years. She always felt a part of her was missing. So they met and it was wonderful. We met at a restaurant the first time and had dinner together. It was him and his wife, and me, my husband, our youngest and my daughter. There were many tears and hugs when they first met. He brought her flowers and he paid for everyone's meal. Conversation flowed nicely and there didn't seem to be any weird quiet times or stalls in the conversation. His wife and family are very nice. And him and my daughter look so much alike. It has been a blessing for him to come into her life. She found out she has a half-brother thru him and he has stepchildren; and one is a girl her age. He does live 2 hours away, so finding the time for her to visit or him to come visit can be difficult but we are finding ways. At 15 years old, my oldest girl has finally met her father and his family. It is a dream come true for her. It makes my heart happy as a mother to see my daughter happy to finally get to know her dad. This year should be exciting as they get to know each other better and there are many  more visits! God heard her prayers and when the time was right, had her dad come into her life. :)
